I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream For Ice Cream! Gift Ideas-Day 6

I personally could eat ice cream 24/7, and of course summer prevails as the traditional time to enjoy this cool treat. So how do you represent a scoop of ice cream in the gift form? Well with a bit of imagination and some great tools it's not so hard.
  • I started with a smoothfoam ball from my local craft store. These are different from styrofoam balls in that they are sturdier, smoother and less expensive. I cut one in half and stuck half of a toothpick into it and placed a whole ball on top, pressing it into the exposed toothpick. (If I had placed a ball directly into the cup it would have been to low to view.)
  • Next, I coated the top ball with Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive (HINT: This is an amazing adhesive. Not only can it be temporary or permanent, but it also comes with a broad tip at one end, or a fine tip at the other end) and rolled it in shredded cellophane. The "chocolate sauce" was recreated using brown liquid applique and heated it with a heat tool. (It didn't turn out quite as I expected, but you get the drift of what it represents.)
  • Finally, I simply placed torn pieces of tissue paper around the ball to hide the bottom ball.
  • For the tag I printed the phrase onto some Pretty In Pink card stock- cut it and some Tempting Turquoise with my paper cutter, and adhered them together with SNAIL adhesive. A piece of Melon Mambo grosgrain ribbon tied in a knot and adhered with a mini glue dot completed the tag. The tag was attached to the faux gift card with SNAIL. Sweet and simple...Enjoy!
