In A Jam? Gift Ideas-Day 12

I love homemade jam, jelly and any spread for that matter. This Apple Butter was made by my mom. She and my dad are amazing cooks and caners. They have won many awards from our county fair for their amazing recipes. I have also been hearing a lot of buzz about strawberry freezer jam lately. This is something I'd like to try and now I have the perfect reason to do so.
  • I started by taking some Designer Series Paper (sorry this particular one is discontinued) and creating a belly band by trimming the paper with my Paper Cutter and then adhering it to the jar with some Sticky Strip.  (HINT: I didn't have enough paper to go around the jar so I adhered two strips together to make it long enough and hid the seam in the back. Just remember when doing so to use a strong  adhesive like Sticky Strip on the seam so it won't come apart.)
  • Next, I printed out Apple Butter directly onto a piece of Real Red card stock and punched it out with my Curly Label punch. Some faux stitching with a uni-ball Signo gel pen completed the look and mini glue dots adhered it to the belly band perfectly.
  •  The lid was created by cutting a piece of So Saffron Patterns Designer Series paper with the Circle Scissor Plus and adhering it to the metal lid with some SNAIL adhesive. Then I printed the sentiment onto a piece of white vellum card stock and cut it the out in the same size. It was adhered using a mini glue dot. (HINT: I made sure I knew where my cutouts would be placed beforehand so that I could place the glue dots there. That way the glue dot would be covered later and not seen.)
  • Next, I used one heart from the Heart to Heart punch that was punched in Real Red card stock. [Can you tell I LOVE this punch-I do!] And to add some shine, of course, I added Crystal Effects to the heart and used a glue dot to adhere it to the lid.
  • The final step was to color the apple image from the Tart & Tangy stamp set onto Old Olive card stock with the Real Red and Close to Cocoa Stampin' Write markers. (HINT: Stampin' Write markers are a great way to color an image if you'd like specific areas different colors.) I used my Paper Snips to trim the image and a Stampin' Dimensional was used to POP it off the paper.
The only thing batter than receiving this gift would be having some homemade rolls to accompany it:) Bon Appetite!
