Peppermint Yumminess: Gift Ideas-Day 17

Today I am sharing with you the recipe for the peppermint bark I featured in this post.
I gave these jars as gifts to friends, neighbors and my husband's co-workers two years ago. They were super simple and fast to put together.
Here are the ingredients you'll need:
1 (1-pint) jar
1 cup (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup white chocolate chips
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy (about 10 peppermint candy rounds)
1. Layer all ingredients except peppermint in the order listed above in 1-pint food storage jar with tight-fitting lid. Place peppermint in small plastic food storage bag. Close with twist tie (I just tied it closed with red curling ribbon); cut off top of bag. Place bag in jar.
HINT: To crush candies, place candies in plastic food storage bag. Crush with rolling pin or mallet. Or, process in food processor using pulsing action.
A 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of Christmas themed fabric was placed on top of the lid before applying the ring.

The tag (with the recipe for making the bark) was printed out on Confetti White card stock. My Digital Studio wasn't around then-imagine the possibilities now! I simply backed it to a larger piece of Real Red card stock, punched a hole in the corner and placed a piece of brown raffia through. This was tied around the ring of the jar. Our Christmas wish was written with the help of my Old Olive Stampin' Write marker. Gifts in a Jar are a great gift giving method-you have everything you need to make a yummy treat instantly. Enjoy!
