Thankful Thoughts-Repost

I love this time of year for so many reasons, one of them being the decorating! The only problem is that there is a plethora of items available for Halloween and of course Christmas, but Thanksgiving gets overshadowed. So for the next month I will be posting some ideas for Thanksgiving decor. I am also busy creating some goodies for a craft fair so  will be posting those intermittently as well :)
The post today is a repost from last year. I did take new (and improved) pictures.

Last year I started a new tradition with our little family. One that I'd always liked is where people sat around the table on Thanksgiving and each one shared something they were thankful for. Well most of us have MANY blessings in our lives, how can they be narrowed down to just one?, so I created this "Thankful Thoughts" pail. The idea is to write down a blessing each day of November until Thanksgiving and then share them together at dinner that night. (I precut pieces of paper and placed them into the jar.)
These clear pails are available at any scrapbook store and online. I simply cut two strips of Designer Series Paper and adhered them to a larger coordinating card stock strip (old olive). then I used clear glue dots to hold them in place within the pail. I added some Bravo Burgandy grosgrain ribbon along the top and tied smaller pieces (Old Olive, Bravo Burgandy, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla) to the handle.

For the lid, I cut a circle out of Designer Series paper using my Coluzzle cutting system. (NOTE: Stampin' Up! no longer caries the Coluzzle, but the new Circle Scissor Plus would do this step in a snap!) I then stamped the sentiment "Thankful Thoughts" using the Stampin' Up! set, Thouroughly Thankful, in Bravo Burgandy. (NOTE: Thouroughly Thankful is a retired set, but Falling Leaves or Harvest Home would be perfect for this project.) Finally, I added some leaves punched from card stock. I'd love to hear what fun holiday traditions you have in your family. Feel free to share in the comments section.
