Easy Ornaments

I am constantly trying to find cute inexpensive ideas for gifts, especially for my boys to give to their grandparents. We almost always incorporate pictures in with the gift so today's project was perfect as it met all the criteria. I started out by punching a hole through the side of a Wilton Favor tin (HINT: The Crop-A-Dile allows you to punch through the tin like butter!) and threading a piece of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon through it. I created a loop and tied a knot to secure it.

To create the insert I punched 8 Scallop Circles from Old Olive card stock. Next I took a piece of Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon and tied a knot at each end. The scallops were sandwiched between the ribbon with some SNAIL adhesive so that a photo could be placed on either side.

On the last scallop I created a sentiment that I found from Nichole Heady. I printed it out on Whisper White card stock and punched it out with our retired Key Tag Punch. I punched a second Key Tag out of Pretty In Pink card stock and then adhered the two using SNAIL adhesive. Before I adhered them to the scallop, I trimmed the top and bottom of the Whisper White Tag so that the Pretty In Pink would be visible. I folded the scallops, accordion style to ensure my sentiment would be on the top, and placed them into the tin. (TIP: I found that if I placed a tiny bit of shredded white party paper (found at any party supply store) behind the scallops it helped to raise it to the top of the tin so that it was close to the top of the lid).
