HSS Sketch Challenge-#4

Good Morning Everyone! Hand Stamped Sentiments is holding our first Sketch Challenge. This sketch comes directly from Stampin' Up!'s Stampin Success which is a monthly magazine sent to demonstrators packed full of incredible projects, fun and new techniques and sketches to use, and great business tips and ideas. If you're interested in the demonstrator info. check it out here and great benefits that you can view here.

Today's card was really fun to put together. I had earned the Good Neighbors stamp set and the Welcome Neighbors Designer Series Pad for Sell-A-Bration. I finally had the perfect chance to put them to use. (BTW: If you'd like to find out how to earn these items for FREE too, click here.)
I started with a piece of Textured Pumpkin Pie card stock that I folded to a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" size.  Next I chose two papers from the Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper Pad. These were cut to 4" across and adhered with SNAIL Adhesive. Next I cut a piece of our Wood Sheets to 4" x 1-3/4". I just recently bought these and really wanted to try them. I had bought them to run through my Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, but thought they were perfect for this card with the home theme.  Wood...construction...home, you get the idea.

I began by stamping the images in Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Old Olive and Melon Mambo Classic Inks. The Stamp-A-Ma-Jig was crucial to the placement of the images. The homes and roofs are separate images so you really need the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get them placed exactly. (HINT: For the first house image I stamped the house in Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink and used a Blender Pen to remove the ink on the heart. Then I applied Melon Mambo to the heart with a Stampin' Write Marker.) I adhered the Wood Sheet with SNAIL Adhesive. An Old Olive Playground Designer Button was tied with Linen Thread and added to the tree image with a Mini Glue Dot.
The finishing touches were added by stamping the "congrats" sentiment in Whisper White card stock in Basic Brown ink and punched out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. I stamped it a second time in Old Olive Classic Ink, trimmed it with Paper Snips and layered it using Stampin' Dimensionals. This was layered onto a Textured Pumpkin Pie card stock piece punched out with the 1-3/8" Circle punch. Stampin' Dimensionals give it a nice 3-D effect. The phrase was hand written with a Stampin' Write Marker in Chocolate Chip.

Don't forget to visit our other two designers, Erin and Genny, to see their amazing projects for the Sketch Challenge.
