Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge 5

Good Morning and welcome to Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #5.  I can't believe we're already onto our fifth challenge. It's been an exciting, and at times stressful, undertaking, but we are loving every minute of it.

Today's color challenge is a nod to the close of the Winter Olympic Games. We have taken the colors from the Olympic Logo. I was a bit apprehensive as to how my project would turn out given the similar color tones, but it was surprisingly simple and came together quickly. It was a fun challenge to undertake. Here's what resulted:

I started with a Textured Brilliant Blue card stock base. I stamped an image from the Park Avenue Patterns set onto a piece of Bashful Blue card stock in Versa Mark ink and heat set it with Clear Embossing Powder and Heat Tool to create my own background. I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to insure the images were aligned. (TIP: Don't forget this option of creating your own unique backgrounds with stamped images. You can emboss them like I did, or simply stamp the image in ink directly onto the paper. The key is repetition.)  Next, I stamped the animal images from the NEW Fox & Friends set. Isn't it adorable? It's debuted in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I just received the set and was itching to put it to good use. The monkey was stamped in Old Olive Classic Ink, the whale in Not Quite Navy Classic Ink, and the turtle in Glorious Green Classic Ink. All three images were stamped using the "C" Clear Block. These were punched with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch.

I stamped the "happy" and "together" sentiment in Not Quite Navy Classic Ink onto a piece of Old Olive card stock. These phrases are from the Happy Everything set. The circles were then placed with Stampin' Dimensionals to give them some depth. A Not Quite Navy Designer Button, tied with Linen Thread, was added with the help of a Mini Glue Dot. The finishing touch was the addition of some 1/2" Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and the entire layer was adhered to the base with SNAIL Adhesive.

I hope you'll feel the inspiration to join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week. Check out the projects from the other designers too: Erin Gonzales and Genny Valdes.
OH! and did I mention anyone who participates is eligible for a Blog Candy Giveaway!! Hope to see you there.
