Hand Stamped Sentiments Technique Challenge

Good Morning and welcome to the second Technique Challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. This week we are playing with the technique of Faux Metal. This is a really easy technique that produces stunning results! Below you can find all the instructions for doing it. We'd love for you to come check it out and join us.

I saw this adorable card that Sarah Newman had made and had to make a similar one. Isn't this just the most creative idea? I am constantly amazed at the concepts people are able to transfer to cards.
I started with a Melon Mambo card stock base and layered an Old Olive piece of card stock on top with SNAIL Adhesive. Next I cut a smaller piece of Glossy White card stock and stamped the grass image from the Inspired by Nature set in Old Olive Classic Ink. This was adhered directly to the other layers with SNAIL Adhesive. Two circles were cut with the Circle Scissor Plus and cut in half (HINT: I used Textured Melon Mambo card stock for the "flower pot" images to add some depth.) The base circle, which is 1/2" smaller, was adhered directly to the Glossy White with SNAIL, while the larger one was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals to give it some depth.

The flowers are punched from the Boho Blossoms Punch from Crushed Curry card stock. They were crunched up and adhered with some Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive. I then used the Crop-A-Dile to punch a small hole in the middle and inserted a small clear rhinestone brad from the Pretties Kit. These were adhered to the grass with Mini Glue Dots.

For the sentiment I followed the Faux Metal instructions using Glossy White card stock and Silver Embossing Powder. The sentiment is also from the Inspired by Nature set. I used the Horizontal Slot Punch on each side and tied some of our NEW Old Olive 5/8" Satin Ribbon through each slit. This was adhered onto the "flower pot" with Stampin' Dimensionals as well.

I hope this technique and card INSPIRE you to create something amazing for our challenge. And don't forget to stop by and see the other designers creations here and here. As always...

Love your card! Such a clever card. Love the flowers. Darn, now you made me want this punch. I love your faux metal piece. It added just the right touch to your card.
