HSS Anything But A Card #21 & What To Do With Scraps #4

One good thing I have to admit about the Anything But A Card Challenges at Hand Stamped Sentiments, is that it really lights a fire in me to complete unfinished projects. This project has been two years in the making, which is rather embarrassing when I take into account how little time it TRULY took to complete.
I saw this idea for an advent calendar on Ali Edward's site (she got the idea from Martha Stewart kids).
Two years ago I bought the paper boxes at my local craft store, but then got busy and they were set aside.

Last summer I finally took them out and painted them. The painting took a total of maybe an hour. It was really quick. Then we moved and once again they were set aside with all the relocation hullabaloo. So last week I sat down and stamped and punched all the numbers. The punched die cut numbers are another great way to use up scraps!
Here's the finished product.

The thing I loved about this idea was that she didn't place candy in them as in the traditional manner. In each box a task is placed, for example, make hot cocoa tonight, roast marshmallows tonight, go caroling tonight, etc. Here's the link to the list of creative ideas you could use.
I hope this inspires you to complete a project you've been putting off, hopefully not for two years, (wink, wink), but better late than never. And we'd love to see you over at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week.

You are ahead of me! I saw that article too and it is still sitting in my "ideas" folder.

Your project turned out great. It is going to be so much fun come December.
