HSS Technique Challenge #35

Good Morning Stampers! Today I am bringing you the product of a NEW Challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments

There are some great tutorials for this technique over at Splitcoaststampers. You can see the Baby Wipe Technique here OR the Striped Wipe Technique here. Both are a lot of fun to try. For today's card I used the Striped Wipe Technique.

I started with an Old Olive base and layered Bravo Burgundy on top. For the Baby Wipe Layer I took a piece of Glossy White card stock and used Old Olive, So Saffron and Rose Red re-inkers. Once this was dry, I stamped the flourish image from the Baroque Motifs set in Early Espresso classic ink. (TIP: Make sure you really let the ink dry thoroughly. Mine smeared a bit as you can see. Another option is to use StazOn ink which would dry immediately.) I then tied a piece of Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon around that entire layer and used a Mini Glue Dot to hold it in place. The layer was applied with SNAIL Adhesive to the card base.

For the sentiment I stamped this phrase from the Perfect Punches set in Early Espresso ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and punched it out with the Wide Oval Punch. For the background I used the Scallop Circle Punch to punch two Rose Red and one So Saffron circle and layered them on top of each other. They were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.
