Fall Favor-Thankful Thoughts Repost-HSS Perfect Setting Challenge #44

Good Morning! It's been a while since you've seen me. We've been busy the last 6 weeks. We moved into our new home, finally, but that's not what's taken up all my time...this little guy is:

Carson Michael Eberhardt was born on Oct. 22. I got to spend 1 night in the new house before he made his arrival. Talk about cutting it close. Luckily I have amazing friends who came and helped us get settled and the majority of things unpacked. It was amazing and we are truly blessed. Things are calming down and routines are setting in so I wanted to get back into the swing of things and participate in this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge. Genny Valdes came up with this great idea.

You can see all the designers creations here.
With Thanksgiving entertaining just passed, I thought I'd share an adorable idea I used 2 years ago for place settings. These were made in a snap and welcomed each guest as they arrived.

I started out by cutting two sheets of Pumpkin Pie card stock into 1" strips. Next, I rolled them with the Bella's Border Stampin' Around wheel in Pumpkin Pie ink. (HINT: Don't forget that less is more. Instead of using a different ink color I simply used the same as my paper to create that tone on tone look. Simple and classy.) I punched a hole through the top and bottom of the strips using my Crop-A-Dile.

I then knotted the bottom of a 4" piece of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon and threaded it through the holes-first through all of one end (this becomes your bottom of the pumpkin), then after folding the strips over, thread through the other end. Knot the top of the ribbon and spread the strips apart to create the pumpkin shape. Attach the tag with your guests' name on it to the ribbon with a bit of Linen Thread.

Here's a close up of the tag. I stamped each guests name in Old Olive ink onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock. The "With Gratitude" sentiment was stamped in Close to Cocoa ink. It was part of a stamp set by the same name but has since been retired unfortunately. There are many others you could use. Harvest Home, Thankful For and Falling Leaves would work perfectly.

Perfect Paper: Pumpkin Pie card stock {105117}, Very Vanilla card stock {101650}
Sensational Stamps: Bella's Border {retired}
Incredible Ink: Pumpkin Pie {105216}, Old Olive {102277}, Close to Cocoa {103139}, Classic Stampin' Ink Refill in Pumpkin Pie {105164}
Terrific Tools: Paper Cutter {104152}, Stampin' Around Handle {102971}, Crop-A-Dile {108362}, Uninked Cartridge {101529}
Awesome Accessories: Old Olive 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon {111368}, Linen Thread {104199}
