HSS Inspired By Nature Inspiration Challenge #59

This weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge is to create something based on this inspirational spring photo collage. I have been wanting to try a cool technique I saw a few months back called faux tile and thought this weeks challenge would be perfect for it.

I started by stamping a Whisper White strip with images from the Simply Said set in Wild Wasabi, Pretty In Pink and Apricot Appeal inks. Next I scored the strip in 1" increments vertically and horizontally. I covered it with Versa Mark ink and applied Clear Emboss Powder to it. This was set with a heat tool. I was really happy with how it turned out. This was layered onto Pretty In Pink and Basic Black. The base is Wild Wasabi.

Here is a close up. Sorry about the glare, but in person this is what makes it so cool looking! We'd love for you to join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week and kick off spring with us.
Paper: Wild Wasabi {108641}, Basic Black {121045}, Whisper White {100730}
Ink: Wild Wasabi {109014}, Apricot Appeal (retired), Pretty In Pink {101301}, Versa Mark {102283}
Stamps: Simply Said {115066}
Tools: Bone Folder {102300}, Heat Tool {100005}, Clear Emboss Powder {109130},
Embellishments: Corner Ticket Punch {119867}, Gold Brad {104337}, Pretty in Pink 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain Ribbon {119775}, Stampin' Dimensional {104430}

Shannon, this came out great! What a cool technique, too. I have to give this one a try. Love the fun color combo, too. Ps: I can't see your card on the HSS post, though. Just thought I would let you know. :)
