HSS Technique Challenge #123

Happy Tuesday Stampers! There is a new challenge up at HSS today and it was just that...a challenge. This week's focus is on pleats. Now maybe it was the tutorial I found, but these little folds were tricky. Seriously, that one little strip (below) took as much time as the rest of the card. Yikes! If anyone else has a good tutorial, please let me know. It can't be as hard as it was yesterday.

Regardless, I was really happy with how the card turned out. I cased this from Nelia Harper. Basic layout but with different colors, paper and stamps. I am loving the Twitterpated DSP! On the Whisper White piece I simply used the 2-step set Raining Flowers to create the images. To make the focal flower I simply punched 4 scallop circles and overlapped them for the flowers base. Then I Punched 6 more and folded the in half and then in thirds. These were adhered in a circle.

If you are feeling ambitious, come on over and take a look at the other designers creations and join us this week.

Paper: Island Indigo, Whisper White, Old Olive, Riding Hood Red, Pool Party, Twitterpated DSP

Accessories: Simply 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, Scored Scoring Tool, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Scallop Trim Border, Antique Brads, Pearl Basic Jewels

SO pretty! Your pleats turned out wonderfully, despite your "challenges", and I really love that folded flower technique. Lots of pretty colors and layers.

Confession: this paper never did anything for me...until now. I love how you showcased it with the pleats and that flower! Such a pretty card!
