HSS ABAC Challenge #129

For this week's HSS challenge I wanted to incorporate Back to School into the challenge. I found this cute fire cracker favor idea on Pinterest.

I started with an empty toilet paper roll the Summer Smooches fabric. I LOVE this fabric collection. Probably because the turquoise and red, swoon!

With the help of some Sticky Strip, I adhered the fabric to it.

I added another strip of Sticky Strip at the end to secure it.

Next I cut strips of the coordinating patterns in the collection. These will be used to tie the ends closed.

Before I closed it up I had to fill it with some yummy treats. What better candy than Jolly Rancher Fire candies? Yum!

After tying the strips of fabric around the ends I cut them into smaller strips to create a fringed look.

The final step was to create the sentiment. I printed it out on my computer on Whisper White card stock. I used BlairMdITC and CK Wild n Crazy fonts and adhered it to a piece of Tempting Turquoise card stock cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits. This was attached with White Baker's Twine.

And voila, here is the finished product. Such a quick and really cute idea for Back to School this year. And it would even be neater if you happened to now your teacher's favorite candy:)

Paper: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise
Fabric: Summer Snooches
Accessories Apothecary Accents Framelits, Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, Sticky Strip, White Baker's Twine, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon

Oh how fun to use fabric! I'd never think of that and I LOVE that it's a fire cracker!
