HSS #143 Color Challenge

Good Morning!
Hopefully you survived Halloween and the time change:) All the Halloween decorations are packed away already and the Thanksgiving ones are out and ready to be put up today. I managed to get my fall wreath finished and it's now hanging on my front door. It was so easy. All it is are strips of tulle tied around a wooden frame. My friend Liz found it on Pinterest, of course, and a bunch of girls from church made them. It is so much better in person. The gold tulle has specks of glitter on it, so pretty!

With Fall in the air, I wanted to incorporate the season with this week's challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I had seen this card on another demo's website and she admitted to seeing it on Facebook, but didn't list the original source. So whomever created this idea originally, thank you!

I loved the divided card front. I started with an Elegant Eggplant base (4-1/4" x5-1/2"), then added a Soft Suede layer of card stock (4"x 5-1/4"). My More Mustard strips were a little less than an inch each. I just trimmed and played around with the size until I liked how they looked and were spaced. I trimmed them down to 5" and then ran them through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder (new in the holiday catalog). After that I used the 1" square punch to create the banner effect at the bottom of each. These layers were adhered with SNAIL Adhesive.

The flower was modeled after one that Erica Cerwin made for me. I created it using the Fun Flowers die and the Spice Cake designer fabric. I had never used the Big Shot to cut fabric before. It was SO easy! I will definitely be incorporating more fabric into my projects. The addition of ribbon, thread and a button completed the look. (I used a glue gun to adhere these together.)

My sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso classic ink and I added Pearls to finish it off.

Make sure you go head over to HSS and check out the other talented designer's projects.
