Pretty as a Peacock

Happy Saturday! I hope it's going well for you. We had two soccer games early this morning that both boys won, yay! Braden's team actually defeated the only team that was undefeated (until this morning) in their division. We play them again next week, so if we can do a repeat we will be in awesome shape in the standings. The boys really showed some great team work.

Today, I wanted to share a card I made at a recent party. The hostess had requested something with peacocks. I recently saw a new technique and I had so much fun showing the girls there how to create this beauty:

I started with the set World Treasures. (It comes in a set of 4, but right now through January 2, 2013, you can buy the peacock image by itself. Click here for all the details.)
Using sponge daubers, I sponged the color from a stampin' classic pad and applied it directly to the stamp. I really liked the effect. It was much more softer than applying a stampin' marker directly to it. The image was stamped directly onto Whisper White card stock, which was layered onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.

A piece of Whisper White card stock was run through the Big Shot with the Fancy Fan embossing folder and was adhered to a piece of Raspberry Ripple card stock that had been stamped at the bottom with another image from the set. The final touch was the addition of our Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.
