HSS Theme Challenge #148

I am so excited to share today's project with you. This week HSS is asking you to show us your best Thank You project. I was asked to come up with a craft project for my son's kindergarten class Christmas Party. I found some adorable owl felt bags on the Lillian Vernon site and just knew I could recreate them with paper, so that's how we got today's project:)

I started by placing a lunch paper bag into the Big Shot with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Die.

The scallop edge is the result. You'll also need a 4-1/2 x 5" piece of Real Red card stock and a 2 x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.

The hat is made up of the small pennant from the Perfect Pennants die and the 1" circle punch. The eyes are created from the in 1" circle punch in Basic Black and the 1-3/8" circle punch in Whisper White card stock. The nose is from a piece of More Mustard card stock and the Bird Builder punch.

You'll also need a 12 x 1" strip for the handle and a 2 x 5" pieces for the feet. I used a small plate to draw a curve and round the piece.

For the sentiment I printed it directly from the computer and used the oval punches to layer it on Whisper White and Real Red card stock.

The best thing about MDS, is that I did not have ANY holiday Designer paper and all I had to do was to print it directly from MDS and voila! Instant designer paper. Make sure you stop by HSS to check out the other designers projects.
